Physicians Plus Launches Mobile App to Help Members Manage Care

    MADISON, WI, August 24, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Physicians Plus Insurance Company is announcing the release of RxManager, a first-of-its-kind mobile app that allows members to better control their own healthcare and its costs by offering secure prescription information on the go.

"We recognize that our members use mobile applications everyday, so giving them the option to download RxManager will help anyone who wants take charge of their healthcare - from finding drug savings information to how to prepare questions for an upcoming doctor's appointment," said William A. With the free application, Physicians Plus members can securely access their current prescriptions, immunization records and potential side effects. RxManager also allows members to locate the nearest pharmacy, keep track of contact information for their doctors and clinics, and help generate a list of questions to ask during upcoming doctor visits. Members with prescription drug coverage through Physicians Plus can also access their prescription drug history and research cost-saving comparisons for generic and therapeutic drug substitutions.

RxManager was developed by RxEOB. The app stores information on a secure database, not on the user's phone, so there is no risk of private medical information being released if the user's phone is lost or stolen. It is available now from the iTunes store for Apple devices and will soon be available in Google Play for Android devices.

This is the second mobile app Physicians Plus has released this summer. In July, a new version of MobileNurse was released. The second generation of MobileNurse offers enhanced features and received high praise in a review from Barton Associates, a national medical firm.
