HOUSTON, TX, August 30, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Summer travel season may be winding down, but the new menu items at Joe's Crab Shack offer a taste of the exotic, transporting guests to locales as far-flung as the North and South Poles and the island nation of New Zealand.
Always committed to providing its customers with the highest-quality seafood available, the national seafood restaurant will highlight two new Steampots - Joe's signature menu items - that introduce diners to fresh-caught Antarctic king crab, Alaskan queen crab and green lip mussels from New Zealand. The new Steampots, on the menu today, take advantage of the best fishing seasons in those respective regions. Menu items that feature these new-to-the-palate items include:
- The Santolla Steampot - Antarctic king (Santolla) crab, clams, shrimp, New Zealand green lip mussels and smoked sausage finished with a spicy garlic wine sauce and Old Bay Seasoning
- The Arctic Bay Steampot - Queen crab, shrimp, a whole split lobster and sausage, steamed in a garlic broth and topped with Old Bay Seasoning
"We want to bring Joe's guests on a culinary adventure when they dine with us," said Ignite Restaurant Group Culinary Director George Atsangbe. "With these new menu items, customers can sample the exotic flavors of faraway oceans, while knowing that the Joe's culinary team has chosen the best seafood from the highest quality sources."
Also highlighted on Joe's fall menu is the KJ Steampot, featuring a classic seafood favorite - Alaskan snow crab - served up in a new way, with seared scallops and mussels basking in a light Kendall Jackson wine sauce with hints of garlic, pepper and notes of citrus.
Joe's complements its fall menu with novel cocktails, including the Category 5 Hurricane, a raucous mixture of light rum, Bacardi 151 Rum, red passion fruit and orange juice, topped with Myer's Dark Rum. Joe's is also featuring its storied Shark Bite, made with Bacardi Limon Rum, Skyy Vodka, Blue Curacao, sweet & sour and a dose of grenadine for guests to enjoy. The Shack's fall dessert feature is the classic Crabby Apple Crumble, America's favorite apple crumble paired with cinnamon ice cream.
Joe's Crab Shack will feature the exotic menu items at its 130 locations, including two restaurants coming soon to Latham, N.Y. and Hunt Valley, Md. For a full list of menu items, go to www.joescrabshack.com/menu/. For locations visit www.joescrabshack.com/locations/.
