TOWSON, MD, September 06, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Medical image data sharing is becoming a necessity. There are a number of medical image data sharing paradigms; DeJarnette provides a solution for every requirement and pocketbook. DeJarnette offers three individual solutions, each of which provides for medical image data sharing.
DeJarnette's Intelligent Router is the image router of choice by many PACS and modality vendors. It is the most fully featured DICOM router in the industry and the perfect solution for low cost image sharing where the image source maintains control of, and responsibility for, archiving the image data.
Intelligent Router supports traditional Store and Forward routing with DICOM tag morphing, a technology pioneered by DeJarnette in the early 1990s with the ImageShare 910. Modality Worklist (pre-fetch) based routing is one of the intelligent routing techniques developed by DeJarnette in 2000 to provide for automated real-time image distribution in a teleradiology setting. Similarly, Query based routing allows for the definition of study based rules which allows image studies in an archive to be routed automatically. The Query routing technique relies on DICOM Query polling of the archive to determine which studies to distribute in real-time. The Intelligent Router also provides for routing in an IHE setting with integration to a PIX manager for rationalizing patient identity between disparate information systems. On-demand routing capability is provided by interaction with a web based user interface.
DeJarnette's xDL - Cross Enterprise Document Library is the company's highly scalable Vendor Neutral Archive solution with embedded image routing and pre-fetch capability. This solution scales to an organization of any size, from a simple modality archive up to the largest enterprise image archive supporting multiple facilities and multiple separate enterprises. xDL provides for sharing of data through the archive based solely on DICOM and HL7 interfaces for legacy environments by providing Context Management and Patient Matching technology. Optionally, the xDL can be fully integrated into an IHE XDS environment making use of third party EMPI, PIX and PDQ managers.
xDL is the perfect data sharing solution for cases where an old archive is to be retired or a new enterprise archive is to be installed. It provides data sharing immediately relying only on existing DICOM and HL7 infrastructure. xDL is upgradable today, or in the future, to function in an IHE XDS and/or XCA (Cross Community Access) environment making use of these medical image data sharing standards of tomorrow. It is a technology which is proving itself in some of the world's largest data sharing environments.
The company's newest product, xDR - Cross Enterprise Document Router is currently installed at three early adopter facilities and will be generally available in the fourth quarter. xDR is the company's IHE XDS/XCA compliant router solution for data sharing. xDR provides the IHE XDS/XCA glue to allow any legacy PACS or legacy DICOM archive to be upgraded to function in an IHE XDS/XCA environment. This solution allows for facilities with a serviceable DICOM PACS or DICOM archive to leverage those investments to participate in the IHE imaging networks being developed and deployed in the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. At the time your existing archive needs to be replaced, xDR can be upgraded along with the storage to xDL.
