Neon Rain Gives $10,000 to Low-Income Students in Denver, CO

    DENVER, CO, September 13, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Neon Rain Interactive continues its mission to promote the importance of education in Denver by supporting ACE Scholarships with financial and software donations.

ACE Scholarships is a Denver, Colorado non-profit founded in 2000 to offer scholarships for low-income children. The goal is to help students take advantage of school choice to attend the private school of their choice in grades K-12, improving their chances of success in college, employment, and life.

This year, Neon Rain's donations to ACE totaled more than $10,000, including the software license donations. One hundred software licenses were donated to ACE in cooperation with Expeditions to Excellence, who developed a tablet friendly online literacy course which was programmed by Neon Rain. Expeditions to Excellence uses an easy-to-follow, step-by-step, multi-sensory method to teach phonics and reading.

"Colorado had a 59 percent high school graduation rate--that's appalling. As a result of poor education, the US is ranked 25th in Math and 17th in Science worldwide. We are losing the race. We need skilled labor to continue the growth of our industries. Where are we going to find a skilled labor force if we continue down this path," Arif Gangji said.

Mr. Gangji added, "It's up to each and every one of us to take part in the future of our State and the future of our country. Neon Rain is dedicated to creating conditions that help small businesses thrive, which depends on each and every child being given the resources necessary to achieve their full potential. Executive Director of ACE Scholarships, Norton Rainey, commented, "We are thankful for organizations such as Expeditions to Excellence for taking a step outside of normal curriculums and creating an online system for teaching literacy. This system creates a great opportunity for families that may not be able to afford the normal materials required but can access this system from home or from a public library."

Their support allows us to provide opportunities for low-income students to reach their full potential. Our program has shown that that if given the opportunity to learn in the educational setting that is best suited to them, a child can achieve extraordinary things."

ACE Scholarships recipients consistently demonstrate success over state and national averages. In 2012, 92% of them graduated from high school, and over the life of the program, ACE recipients scored more than 20% higher on the ACT than the average low-income student in Colorado or in the Denver Public School system.
