EDMONTON, AB, September 13, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Canadian author Kenna McKinnon poses a terrifying dilemma to readers of her debut young adult/middle grade sci-fi novel, SpaceHive: "Earth's future is in the hands of a 12-year-old boy named Jason Anderson, who is kidnapped by a friendly alien Bee from the SpaceHive while the vicious General Vard and new Queen decide his fate. Will Jason be able to save the world or will the alien giant wasps destroy the Earth and inhabit it at their will?"
Set in the towns of Creston, Yahk and Cranbrook in British Columbia, Canada, and on the plains of India, this thriller draws upon unique landscapes and Pixar-like action to portray a thrilling story of alien invasion, adventure and young love, ending with a couple of poignant scenes that may have you reaching for a tissue. SpaceHive is what blockbuster movies are made of: thrills, chills and a gripping story that you'll never forget!
From the back cover:
After getting kidnapped by giant alien bees, twelve-year-old Jason Anderson is transported to a spaceship called SpaceHive. There, he learns of a horrifying plot to annihilate Earth's human population so that extraterrestrial bees and wasps can migrate to a new world.
As a swarm of spaceships make a beeline toward Earth, Jason must convince three friendly worker bees to help him escape his space prison and find other humans to aid in his mission to stop the invasion. But General Vard, wasp commander of the Black Watch, has other plans.
Can Jason unite the nations of Earth in their common fight to destroy these alien invaders? Or will Earth be lost to the sting of conspiracy and a worldwide massacre?
