A part of myself questioned whether the story you are about to read is genuine and I researched the web. The event did occur in November 2002 and was reported in the National Post. You can check: http://forums.firehouse.com/archive/index.php/t-42567.html which says in part:

'In a letter published in two Halifax newspapers, Shelley Yates thanked the dozens of city residents who helped bring her son back to life -- in particular the "wingless angels," as she called them, who found the sinking car and "pulled us from death's clutches."'

The material goes far beyond the saving of one life as you will see and I hope it resonates with you. Although volunteers have translated the material into fourteen languages, every presence on the 17th July will count to make a difference. It is only two weeks away, so please let others know.
