Covington Who's Who Selects Boyden Steele as a VIP Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

    HOLLYWOOD, FL, October 04, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Boyden Steele, Retired Naval Captain and Defense Contractor, has been selected as a VIP Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Boyden Steele's commitment to excellence in Government and Aerospace.

Steele, who spent thirty years in the US Navy and another twenty-two years as a defense contractor, retired in 2008. During his time in the Navy, Steele advanced from Seaman Recruit to Captain, serving from 1956-1986 before becoming a full-time civilian systems engineer, logistics specialist, and finally, program manager.

As a naval officer, Steele held assignments of ASW officer, engineering officer, staff material officer, executive officer, command of two different destroyers, and finally as a program manager for the development of the combat systems on the current minesweepers. As a defense contractor, Steele worked as a systems engineer, placing the communications suite on the Landing Craft Air Cushion vehicle and a larger, more capable system on board the Hamilton Class Coast Guard ships. After a voluntary relocation, he became a site manager for various engineering services endeavors.

Considered an expert in developing winning engineering services and logistics support proposals, Steele was a successful manager who paid attention to detail. After the unfortunate loss of his wife of forty-seven years, however, he felt the need to retire and adjust to a widowed lifestyle.

"It has taken a while to adjust, but I am now ready and eager to resume an active role in the workforce," Steele said. "I am looking forward to returning to an enjoyable work program. I feel I can contribute greatly."

With hopes of doing some consulting work, Steele has a lot of experience under his belt. He has spoken to the success of his programs and rewards, with his greatest reward of counseling three very successful subordinates, two of which became doctors and the third, a lawyer.
