ASHEVILLE, NC, October 07, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Research has found that one person in five is more alert to details in the environment and nuances in relationships. They are generally ethical, courteous, and conscientious and are most comfortable when others are as well. They take in more information and think about it longer and more deeply.
The Highly Sensitive Person, or HSP, is likely to become fatigued more quickly by noise, criticism, and time pressures as well as more likely to suffer side effects from prescription drugs and to develop allergies. The difference is physiological, not psychological, and can be found in 100 other species. Nature has provided a minority who is more alert to danger and less likely to take undue risk. Knowing about that difference in approach is as important as understanding IQ, according to research done in the last dozen years.
Each class in this teleconference series meets for five weeks, beginning with Happiness and the Highly Sensitive Person, held on Wednesdays, from October 24 to November 8, 2012, 7-8 PM Eastern Time (4-5 PM Pacific Time). It can assist the HSP in understanding how their sensitivity has affected their choices and goals in life, and then begin to design and implement the right environments, ones where they can be themselves, be valued and flourish.
Elaine Aron's book The Highly Sensitive Person: How To Thrive When The World Overwhelms You is the basis for the class and is its text. The program has been created by HSP coach Celeste O'Brien of Authenticity Coaching, who has twenty years' experience teaching classes and workshops and is a certified graduate of Dr. Martin Seligman's Authentic Happiness Coaching Program as well as Foundations of Coaching by MentorCoach.
"Eighty percent of the population is non-sensitive, and may be equally intelligent, insightful or kindly," says O'Brien, "but HSPs must still work a little harder to create a place for themselves socially and in the workplace. Sensitivity affects everything in their lives, including school, marriage, and work."
Celeste O'Brien provides authenticity coaching for the highly sensitive person and offers teleconference classes including Happiness and the Highly Sensitive Person, Authentically Happy, and Focus on Your Core Strengths. She combines the research on sensitivity, happiness and the importance of identifying and using your strengths into teleconference classes and evidence-based coaching.
