SAN MARCOS, CA, October 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is now accepting applications for its Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology program, and will host an information session for prospective students on Oct. 18. This program is designed for students who are interested in public health, education, and health research. The next information session is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at 3:30 p.m., in the CSUSM Temecula Campus located at 43890 Margarita Road.
The kinesiology bachelor's degree program focuses on teaching students the skills necessary to make a difference in the lives, health, and mobility of others. Graduates of the program will be prepared to promote positive behavior changes and to encourage others to live healthier lifestyles. Program graduates make positive contributions to the health of their communities. Many students later enroll in CSUSM's accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and earn a second degree.
This program utilizes the cohort model to provide students with academic support throughout their courses. Class sizes are kept small, under 35 students whenever possible, and the cohort model guarantees that students will have a place in the required courses throughout the program. A cohort is a group of students who take courses together and graduate together. This can lead to strong support systems throughout the program and beyond.
Students are taught by experienced faculty, professionals in the field and industry leaders. They enjoy a combination of classroom learning, theory, and hands on practice. In addition, CSUSM has a new Human Performance Lab that allows Kinesiology students the opportunity to conduct research for their courses in a state-of-the-art facility.
Contact the Extended Learning Program to RSVP and reserve a spot in the next information session. Applications are currently being accepted for the Fall 2013 semester.
