CHICAGO, IL, October 15, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kaplan Higher Education Campuses had more than 3,800 graduates in the third quarter of the year. The many student success stories highlight the role career-focused education continues to play in securing a better future for college graduates.
At 34 years old, Carlos Garcia found himself in a place he was not proud of. He was without a job and a home of his own and knew he needed to turn around his life. He enrolled in the medical assistant program at Kaplan College North Hollywood and was committed to his success.
"Kaplan has really helped change my life and going back to school is the best decision I ever made," said Carlos. "I love my job as a medical assistant, but it's not only a job, it's a career and I'm excited to get up and go to work every day."
Carlos credits his knowledgeable instructors with years of experience in the field for providing him with the tools he needed to succeed in the workplace.
"My teachers pushed me to perfect the skills we were learning in the classroom and prepared me for what I would encounter on the job," he said.
Carlos excelled during his externship at a medical office, and, upon completion, was offered a full-time position at the same location.
"For many of our students, education is the key to improving their current situation and starting on a road for future success," John Lock, KHEC CEO and president, said. "From the moment they walk through the door, we guide them every step of the way so that they are well-informed and equipped to succeed upon graduation."
