DALLAS, TX, October 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Container Store, the nation's leading retailer of storage and organization products, is shouting from the roof-top its employee-first culture and how they are helping communities along the way by getting their customers involved - putting purpose before profits - in its new What We Stand For campaign.
The Container Store stands for EMPLOYEES first in all that they do. By putting its employees first, customers' lives are improved with great service and the gift of organization delivered by their happy, well-trained and enthusiastic salespeople. And if customers are happy? Well, the rest of its partners are as well - vendors, the community, shareholders - everyone!
Creating value for all partners, with employees first, has been The Container Store's approach since 1978. Today, the retailer is proud to be a founding company in a movement called Conscious Capitalism , a group of like-minded business, thought and academic leaders working to elevate humanity through a conscious approach to business.
"It's not a zero-sum game - no one has to lose in business for others to win. Operating a business this way is the most sustainable, enjoyable, profitable and FUN approach," said Kip Tindell, Chairman and CEO.
In its new campaign, The Container Store asked its employees to put into words - ONE WORD actually - what they believe The Container Store stands for in its approach to running the business, taking care of its employees, customers, vendors and community. You'll see on the retailer's What We Stand For blog, employees expressed it in a way that represents their unique interests, experiences, backgrounds and talents. For every word their employees submitted, The Container donated a $50 Store More card to the nonprofit of their choice. The results are inspiring. Check out the gallery of photos from their EMPLOYEES!
The Container Store also stands for VENDOR Relationships. The retailer treats its vendors the same way they treat their employees and their customers. It's actually kind of hard to tell the difference between their employees, their vendors and their customers. The retailer asked its VENDORS to tell them what they thought The Container Store stands for - in one word.
But that's not the final WORD! The Container Store is also giving $150,000 in cash, products and services to nonprofits in its communities across the country. The retailer is asking customers to submit their favorite nonprofit at any of the retailer's 58 stores nationwide or on its blog by November 1, 2012.
