/24-7PressRelease.com/ - February 4, 2005 - When eBay announced fee increases on January 12, 2005, some unhappy sellers circulated a petition that received over 21,000 signatures. Others voiced their complaints through the media.
Granted, the majority of eBay sellers vented their frustration, but a small group of savvy eBay sellers began celebrating. These knowledgeable sellers know the higher costs and lower profit margins will drive off the marginal sellers and leave more profits for them.
The difference between the two groups can be explained by their attitudes towards eBay. "Sellers who view eBay only as a place to list items aren't going to be happy about this," explains Terry Gibbs, the founder of www.IWantCollectibles.com and one of the happy eBay sellers.
The unhappy sellers make all their profits on eBay and are forced to continually find new buyers. On the other hand, savvy sellers use eBay to build client lists and as a lead generator. They also concentrate on selling products directly to past buyers.
This may be a simple concept, Gibbs added "but eBay has made it difficult to prospect for new clients by imposing strict rules in order to stay between the seller and the eBay audience."
Gibbs adds, there are acceptable ways to prospect on eBay within the rules.
Gibbs teaches this system in his best selling ebook "The Auction Revolution." Based on the results of over 12,000 ebay auctions, the Auction Revolution contains a complete blueprint to eBay success.
