TUCSON, AZ, November 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EE Technologies recently installed its 10th new surface mount technology line in its Empalme, Sonora manufacturing plant. The company manufactures in Mexico under The Offshore Group's Mexico Shelter Plan.
This, along with installation of a Power Distribution Center (PDC) line, supports the manufacture of automotive products used globally. Many of EE Technologies' OEM and other customers are making decisions to bring products previously sent far offshore to North America, and increasingly to Mexico. The benefits of reshoring are significant for these customers. EE Technologies is honored to support their efforts at its Nevada and Mexico locations.
"With this new line we are gearing up for the big move of the automotive industry shifting from the Far East and China increasingly into Mexico. We have already been awarded several multimillion piece orders to support Ford, Chrysler, GM, BMW, and Honda, and want to be prepared to serve future needs also," states Sonny Newman, EE Technologies President.
And one of EE Technologies' customer partners recently transferred a PDC assembly line to the Empalme, Bella Vista Industrial Park location demonstrating confidence in a long-term partnership with EE Technologies. Some of the main pieces of equipment (42 in total) for the assembly line transferred include three auto insertion machines, one wave solder, one selective solder, three conformal machines with UV ovens, one 66 ton press, and dedicated in-process and End of Line (EOL) testers. This equipment is currently purposed for the customer's production requirements but is the property of EE Technologies and available for other opportunities.
With the PDC line now optimized, EE Technologies has delivered multiple satisfactory shipments to the customer. The units shipped were Power Distribution boxes for Mopar, a division of Chrysler. The Power Distribution boxes are big plastic boxes normally mounted in the engine compartment of vehicles and contain circuit boards, fuses and relays. EE Technologies assembles the PCBA's and then does the remaining assembly work to complete the boxes. The Power Distribution boxes are service parts for vehicles that have been out of production for at least 7 years and primarily end up in older Chrysler minivans and Dodge Durango trucks.
Both of these recent line installations highlight the opportunities that exist when companies communicate and look for collaborative solutions. EE Technologies relentlessly works with customers to ensure the optimal cost-quality-delivery outcome possible. And communication, trust, and respect are foundational no matter which shore you find yourself on.
