WASHINGTON, DC, December 08, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cathy Borris-Hale, Chief Nursing Officer at the Specialty Hospital of Washington-Hadley campus has been appointed as a Board member for the District of Columbia Board of Nursing for a term of two years.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of the District of Columbia, Mrs. Borris-Hale has over 20 years of nursing experience and has been the Chief Nursing Officer for Specialty Hospital of Washington-Hadley campus for the last four years. "I am pleased and quite honored to have been nominated and appointed to such a prestigious board. These are proven leaders that care deeply about and are advocates for the profession of nursing," said Mrs. Borris-Hale.
The Board of Nursing is mandated to regulate the practice of registered nurses, practical nurses, and advanced practice registered nurses. The Board accredits DC professional nursing and practical nursing programs. It also administers a rehabilitation program, Committee on Impaired Nursing (COIN), established for nurses with impaired practice due to substance abuse of mental illness.
