Cambridge Who's Who Honors Barbara L. Gray as Executive of the Year in Educational Leadership

Barbara L. Gray, president of Shelby County Education Association, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in educational leadership.

Gray, president of Shelby County Education Association has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in educational leadership. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who is an honor, only two males and two females in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Executives of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee hand picks these special Who's Who honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership and service.

Gray has 35 years of experience in educational leadership. As president of Shelby County Education Association, she heads one of the "100 Top School Districts" in the United States for providing its students with far above average educations at a below average cost (Money Magazine). Gray's areas of expertise include supervision, teaching instruction, acting as a liaison between teachers and the central office and attending local, state and national association meetings. Prior to her appointment as president of SCEA, Gray spent ten years as an assistant principal. Gray is also a personnel appeals board member for the city of Millington. School Match, Inc. recognized the Shelby County school system with the prestigious "What Parents Want Award" for nine consecutive years.

Gray received her masters degree in curriculum and instruction from The University of Memphis, and her bachelors degree in chemistry from LeMoyne Owen College. She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
