/24-7PressRelease/ - August 21, 2007 - Youth basketball coaches looking for the ultimate "how to" instruction for teaching shooting, and players looking for help with their shot, will probably all feel comfortable with the material Coach Ronn presents for this difficult teaching subject. He breaks it down in such a way as to make it understandable and simple, covering every detail from placement of the feet right up to why the ball may not be going into the basket—and then, showing how to fix the missed shot.
Anyone who has read other basketball E-books by Coach Ronn will recognize his easy and detailed writing style, as he leaves nothing to be guessed at about teaching or learning how to shoot.
From showing how to teach the very beginning player how to stand, how to hold the ball and lots of specific drills for shot delivery, right through correcting the more experienced player's shooting faults, he covers everything in the minutest details.
There are things in this book that Coach Ronn shares with his readers that he has never made public before, except with his mentoring students. He doesn't use fancy gimmicks or equipment to teach with. He allows that any coach or player, anywhere in the world, in any kind of program, needs to be able to cover shooting simply and completely. By using the tasks he teaches, coaches or players won't require access to, or the expense of, additional equipment.
Within this book, the author teaches shooting for beginners right at the basket then moves into a unique method of teaching the layup. He covers the mechanics for the jump shot and the set shot, including how to teach the smaller or weaker player to be able to shoot a long distance shot. He has a proprietary teaching method for teaching the free throw, called "Rhythm" and "Ritual", which increases accuracy by breaking down, simplifying and de-mystifying the mechanics for shooting the free throw. (Maybe Shaq should read this!)
Through the use of pictures and diagrams, everything Coach Ronn writes about is fully illustrated for the reader. Finally, he has one last bit of "special technique" he shares with us for being able to critique and adjust the shooter's form, from pre-release through release of the ball, and what happens when the ball reaches the basket. If the shot didn't drop right in, with his "special technique", he shows you why it didn't go in and how to correct it so the shot goes into the ring.
