Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa Welcomes New Spa & Golf Directors; Announces Golf Accolades

    /24-7PressRelease/ - LEXINGTON, KY, August 23, 2007 - The lush Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa announces its two newest additions to the team. Appointments include J. Reid, Spa Director, and Ryan Roche, Director of Golf.

J. Reid, Spa Director
Ms. Reid will be responsible for the overall spa operation and exceptional service experience that guests will receive daily. She will also manage the retail items that will be sold and used for all spa services. Ms. Reid will also be very involved in the creation of the Spa Organic Herb Garden which will house herbs exclusively used for the resort spa treatments.

Ms. Reid joins the distinguished team at Griffin Gate with a 15-year track record in the Spa/Wellness industry. Before moving from Golden, CO, to Lexington and taking the helm of The Spa at Griffin Gate, the newest spa in Lexington, KY., Ms. Reid worked for the world-renowned Aveda and gloMinerals.

Complementing her industry expertise is a BA in Art from the University of Hawaii and an MFA from Naropa University.

Ryan Roche, Director of Golf
Mr. Roche recently received the notable nomination to the PGA Merchandiser of the Year-KY section. A 1999 graduate of the Ferris State University Professional Golf Management Program, Roche is an elected member of Professional Golfers Association, a certified Faldo Golf Institute Instructor and was recognized in Golfdom magazine as one of the industry's People on the Move in 2007.

Roche started his career with Marriott in 2000 at Marriott's Shadow Ridge Golf Club, one of America's Top 100 Places to Play" by Golf Magazine. He started at Griffin Gate in Jan 2007.

The Lexington resort would also like to announce its Golf Tournament Director's recent PGA certification. Don Hobbs, a well-known Lexington golf instructor completed a four-year program consisting of industry related work activities, three rigorous testing stages, a Playing Ability Test, and thousands of hours of apprenticeship under a PGA professional to earn the accolade.

The Griffin Gate Golf Club is certified in Environmental Planning by Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP). The ACSP is an international program administered by Audubon International designed to help landowners preserve and enhance the environmental quality of their property.
