K. Gabriel Heiser, Author of "Medicaid Secrets," Sells 10,000th Copy

    NASHVILLE, TN, February 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- K. Gabriel Heiser, attorney and author, has just sold the 10,000th copy of his best-selling book "How to Protect Your Family's Assets from Devastating Nursing Home Costs: Medicaid Secrets" (Phylius Press; ISBN 9780979080180). Now in its 7th (2013) edition, the book has been widely accepted as "the bible" for Medicaid planning by many financial planners and elder law attorneys.

"It's been an interesting process, since my book is self-published. Rather than try to convince some big publishing company to take on my book, I learned the ropes of how to do it myself," said Heiser.

Since the average self-published book sells less than 100 copies, hitting this milestone is quite an achievement. Asked why he thinks his book has sold so well over the years, Heiser remarked, "My view is that the book has sold well because it fills a real need among the general public for information on this topic. It is a non-fiction informational book on a topic that takes a specialist attorney many years in the field to fully understand. Also, there is a lack of good information on the topic of how to pay for nursing homes while qualifying for Medicaid, which is why I wrote the book in the first place!"

Recently, Heiser has expanded his book into both a professional manual geared toward attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors (Medicaid Planning: From A to Z), and his latest project, a series of eBooks.

"I'm finishing up a series of eBooks based on my Medicaid Secrets book, which will give people immediate access to just those sections of most interest to them. I'm excited to get this out to the public!"
