The Brains Behind Adaptive AI
Adaptive Artificial Intelligence technology is a methodology based on statistical pattern recognition expressed as reinforcement learning. Dr. Michael Mozer, an internationally recognized expert in machine learning, developed this concept to enable machines to better meet the social and physical desires of people. Products imitating real life behaviors are a growing market as evidenced by the recent trend in entertainment robots in the forms of dogs and people, and dolls that provide interactive experiences. Sensory's RSC-4x Family of microcontrollers with speech input/output (I/O) capabilities now also support the Adaptive AI technology. Powered by Sensory's new FluentChip firmware suite of speech recognition, speech synthesis and music synthesis technologies, these low cost IC's selling for under $2 in volume can handle recognition vocabularies of up to 40 speaker independent words. All the necessary ROM, RAM, and other hardware are contained on chip, including a general-purpose microcontroller and powerful 16 bit A/D converter. By replacing the existing microcontroller, a Sensory RSC-4x Family chip can add intelligence and personality, speech input (recognition) and speech output (talking), with an incremental cost of under $1. The RSC-4x Family opens these technologies up to a new generation of consumer products, with user interface features that were never before affordable.
