/24-7PressRelease/ - CHARLESTON, SC, September 16, 2007 - For the second year in a row, ChazzFest, a tribute to South Carolina's music and cultures, will be held in Charleston, SC. This year's winner of the official event's drink is Henry Fincke, who created the new "Chazz Julep".
The "Chazz Julep" was judged by a distinctive group of panelists including individuals from Finlandia Vodka, Southern Comfort, Jack Daniels and Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum and others. Charleston residents were also invited to vote for their favorite drink recipe by the city paper. Fincke is very excited that his creation won the contest, and that it will be served ChazzFest.
"As a Mixologist, I love to create new concoctions and see how they're received," said Henry Fincke. "I had some tough competition, so I'm really excited that my recipe won this year's award."
Fincke will be serving the drink to 10,000 people attending the event.
The recipe for the "Chazz Julep" is:
In a shaker combine 1 slice each of lime, lemon, orange and 7 mint leaves. Muddle together and add 1 1/2 oz of Jack Daniels and 3 oz of sour mix or lime juice (lime juice preferable) and 1 oz of simple syrup. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into rocks glass and finish with club soda.
This year's ChazzFest, Charleston Music & Heritage Festival will take place Saturday, September 22 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, SC. Featured artists include Branford Marsalis, Kool & the Gang and many more. ChazzFest will also feature foods of the region, an artisans' village and a children's play area, allowing the entire family to experience the rich musical, food and arts tradition of South Carolina.
