March 06, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "Broken Mask: My struggle to forgive" was introduced Saturday, March 2, 2013 on station 1680 AM Winter Garden, Florida by Reverend Bryan on his radio show. Kristina Wetzel gave a preview for the next show, Saturday, March 9, to share the purpose of her book aimed at helping struggling girls and women. The interview will stream live on http://tunein.com/radio/WOKB-1680-s23142/ at 6:00 a.m.
Wetzel wrote her autobiography to explain how events throughout her life, from childhood circumstances to rape, to workplace sexual engagement with a superior to poor relationship choices, created a need for her to forgive the transgressors before she could be healthy. She wants her life damaging experiences, and struggle to survive through forgiveness, to help women and girls break from their tragic circumstances and live with their heads up without a mask of their own.
"I am doing this interview to reach single-mothers, like me, who know no other way to survive except to allow men to use them and their bodies for the men's own purposes and then abandon the women to struggle to survive minute-to-minute," explained Wetzel. "I hope that my story will help warn girls away from having to live through the things I have."
Broken Mask (Olmstead Publishing LLC, 2013) chronicles her youth in comfortably appointed homes but uncomfortable and sometimes detrimental relationships with her parents and stepparents. The book touches on child abuse, incest, rape, sex trafficking, abortion, near-stranger sexual encounters, a deadbeat dad, strokes, seizures, jail, unemployment, homelessness, and the consequences of these problems on families.
Despite the tragic circumstances of the lives of the author and her son, Kristina Wetzel is an accomplished singer, served in the military, and obtained an associate's degree. Her son, Brandon Wetzel, as witness to his mother's life and testimony, drew the mask on the cover of the book.
