SUSSEX, ENGLAND, March 15, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- UK break specialists Forest Holidays has today announced the launch of Forestipedia, a new online resource that explores all aspects of life in the forest.
The creation of Forestipedia follows research on wellbeing showing that 3.5 million adults have not visited the natural environment in the previous year. In response, Forest Holidays want to share their expertise of the UK's green, open spaces creating an informative resource about forests in the UK. This resource includes detailed descriptions of each of their forest areas, written by expert Forest Rangers.
Forestipedia includes in depth information on the trees and woodland, flora and fauna, birds and bugs, beetles and various creepy crawlies that make life in the forest so rich and diverse. There is also a series of lifestyle sections written by experienced journalists and authors such as Paula Hall, author of Improving Your Relationships For Dummies who's written a piece on how holidays can improve your relationships and award-winning travel writer Norman Miller who has contributed a section looking at the rise in popularity of foraging for food. There is also a beginners' guide to stargazing and a guide to winter in the forest.
Jill Grinsted, Sales and Marketing Director at Forest Holidays commented: "We're very proud of what we have achieved with this new resource. The launch content is only the beginning as we have plenty of new content ideas for 2013 onwards. We're also keen to hear from lovers of the forest to understand what they would like to see on Forestipedia in the future. The whole purpose of Forestipedia is to be a genuinely useful and engaging resource which offers an insight into life in the forest."
Mark Henshall, Content Director Travel at Propellernet added: "It's excellent that Forest Holidays is using its knowledge, experience and passion for the natural environment to create an exciting and varied platform which will help people explore and discover its woodland. Looking forward we'll be harnessing their expertise to produce inspiring and genuinely informative content such as forest ranger blogs, Q&As with nature experts and cycling and dog-walking maps. Forestipedia is an engaging hub where people can enjoy dropping in to make informed choices and get the most out of their holiday."
