LONDON, ENGLAND, March 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Aphronze Architectural Design UK Ltd. (www.Aphronze.com), an architect firm located in London, UK, Taipei, Taiwan and China, is very pleased and proud to announce winning the prestigious International Property Award, Asia Pacific Region, for its design of the Wanbo underground commercial development project for the Jia Chuang Group. The project is currently under construction and located in the Panyu urban district of the southern end of Guangzhou in the Pearl River Delta of China.
280,000 square meter Guangzhou Wanbo Metro Shopping Center
The Wanbo central business district underground space is composed of 4 levels, including an underground transportation system (1,375,800 square meters), underground municipal facilities (30,500 square meters), and an underground commercial space (304,800 square meters). The 280,000 square meter metro shopping center project will be an urban commercial complex that integrates commerce, recreation, entertainment, and variety of architectural compositions and building typologies that focus on the themes of shopping, traveling, food, culture and entertainment.
High End Western Style Design
The Wanbo shopping center is designed with the western styles of Broadway, London Garden, Champs Elysee, and Rodeo Drive to offer a great environment for the shopping experience. It is composed of shopping streets, a high-end supermarket, high fashion department stores, a modern IMAX Cinema, amusement centers, gyms, clubs, spa, banking, a playground, and sports fields, including a skating rink. The facility will include plazas, sky bridges, sky decks, sky lights, gardens, fountains, sculptures and canals.
Eco-Friendly Sustainable Green Technology Design
The architectural design features eco-friendly sustainability, energy conservation, good environmental utility, renewable energy, and green technological innovation. Natural light is distributed through a sophisticated solar energy system which allows for electric lights to be turned off during the day. The project will be composed of green building materials, including: reclaimed concrete, recycled bricks, and smart glass "electrified" skylights. These smart glass electrified skylights control sunlight and heat and reduce energy costs and consumption drastically. For example, powering 2,000 square feet of color changing glass--the equivalent of more than 100 windows--would require less power than illuminating a 60-watt light bulb.
Space Syntax Design Methodology
Aphronze uses the state of the art design methodology known as "space syntax", which in this particular project consists of the segmentation of well-designed commercial spatial layouts to help circulate customers or passengers to properly vibrate places. By doing so, space syntax design creates enormous levels of economic capital and boosts 'returns' of land value and rental income from, as an example, enhanced foot traffic in retail areas. Space syntax helps to allocate shops in the right positions and configurations. This methodology helps to circulate and direct people toward the shops to encourage best commercial outcomes.
