MORRISTOWN, NJ, April 18, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Juan Antonio Garcia-Mallol, a Fuel and Energy Consultant for Foster Wheeler AG, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Engineering Consulting.
While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
As a professional engineer with more than four decades of experience, Mr. Garcia-Mallol has cultivated his expertise in fuels and power generation. Seven years ago, he retired from a 36-year career with Foster Wheeler AG, a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier. In his time with the company, Mr. Garcia-Mallol worked on major projects in the U.S., Europe and East Asia. He was responsible for arch furnace designs, designing the fluidized bed boiler for Georgetown University and fluidized bed system development. He continued his work with Foster Wheeler AG and various other companies as an international consultant in the fuel and energy fields. He speaks English, Spanish and French fluently.
Dr. Garcia-Mallol has been granted 26 patents, including "Over-fire Air Control System for a Pulverized Solid Fuel Furnace," "System for Preheating Fuel," "Fluidized Bed Reactor and Method of Operating Same" and "Vapor Generating System Utilizing Integral Separators and Angularly Arranged Furnace Boundary Wall Fluid Flow Tubes." Additionally, he has been published in various venues and recognized at numerous seminars, including ENDESA and Technical University of Nova Scotia, Power-Generation International Conference, International Pittsburgh Coal Conference, Mining and Metallurgy International Congress, and Air Pollution Control Association Annual Meeting. Dr. Garcia-Mallol also received formal recognition for scientific activity and creative attitude in the research field from the University of Antioquia in Colombia.
Dr. Garcia-Mallol attributes his success to the motivation he received from his parents, particularly his father, who encouraged him to receive as much education as possible. He holds a Ph.D. in mining engineering with a concentration in fuels and energy from the University of Oviedo in Spain. He also earned a Master of Science in mining engineering from the same university. Furthermore, Dr. Garcia-Mallol is a registered professional engineer and certified European engineer. He intends to continue in his current capacity in the years to come.
