Sally A. Lee Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Agriculture

Mrs. Lee always dreamed of owning her own farm. Working initially within the industry provided her with a good knowledge base and wide network of peers — each assisted in making her dream come true over the past 16 years. For the past 5 years, Mrs. Lee has served as managing director of Burklee Limited. Since February 2008, Mrs. Lee has owned the property in an equity partnership. Burklee Limited comprises sheep and beef over 1200 acres in West Waikato, New Zealand. The company produces meat and wool, which is sold to local merchants. It offers grazing to the dairy industry for weaner heifers, rising-2-year heifers and some winter cows.

With expertise in agriculture, dairy, sustainable agriculture and business strategy, Mrs. Lee is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the farm. In addition, she works with outside vendors and clients, and coordinates business growth strategees. Mrs. Lee attributes her success to her passion and diligence. In the near future, she intends to achieve continued growth. The property is a developmental one, and in the first five years has experienced positive productivity and profitability growth.

Mrs. Lee received a bachelor of agricultural science with first class honors from Massey University.

Outside the farm, Mrs. Lee is actively pursuing a career in governance. This has involved both networking and training, having completed the Institute of Directors 'Certificate in Company Direction' and agriculture co-operative sponsored training 'The LEADing Board'. Mrs. Lee is a member of IOD and NZIPIM.
