PORTLAND, ME, May 02, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To further advance Maine's wind energy supply-chain products and professional service business, the Maine Ocean & Wind Industry Initiative (MOWII) will organize a Maine Wind Industry Pavilion at WINDPOWER on May 5-8 in Chicago IL. MOWII has been actively developing and promoting Maine's wind power capabilities in many sectors, including construction, engineering, composite technologies, steel fabrication, precision manufacturing, environmental services and marine trades.
"Maine continues to demonstrate high-caliber wind energy capabilities at national and international conventions and has become a serious wind power supply chain resource," explains MOWII Director and Industry Coordinator Paul Williamson. "In fact, Maine host a large majority of the wind projects in New England and has received US DOE funding for 2 offshore floating wind demonstration projects."
MWII Director Paul Williamson will be at the Maine Wind Industry Pavilion, in booth 2737, to introduce influential wind industry developers, manufacturers and professionals to Maine companies that have wind power expertise, professional services or applicable products. The following businesses will take part in the WINDPOWER 2012 Maine Wind Industry Pavilion: Reed & Reed, Maine Port Authority, James W. Sewall Company, Maine Composite Alliance (MCA), Sprague, SGC/Senergy Alternative Energy and Delorme.
In addition to exhibiting Maine's wind power strengths to attendees, the Maine Wind Industry Pavilion will host a reception to introduce show attendees to the Maine companies. Paul Williamson will also be presenting on behalf of Maine at the Navigating US Wind Industry session: a guide for foreign investors.
Located at the McCormick Place, the WINDPOWER 2013 Conference and Exhibition is the largest annual wind-focused exhibition in the world.
