Alejandro Garcia-Palacios, MBA, Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who

As president of Cafe La Fortuna, Alejandro Garcia-Palacios oversees all daily business operations including a production plant in Mexico City, the plantation where his coffee is grown and processed, and a boutique coffee house in the Chicago, Illinois area. An expert in logistics and transportation, he directs sales initiatives, supply chain management, business development, and customer relations. Serving as the company's in-house roastmaster and barista, he has become proficient in coffee production, bean harvesting, sales, and marketing.

Mr. Garcia-Palacios holds a diploma in total quality management and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico, and an MBA through the University of Phoenix. Drawing on his educational background and 30 years of experience, he has spoken at conferences as a subject matter expert and has written for Coffee Trade Magazine in Mexico. He was also a chief negotiator for North American Free Trade Agreement coffee deals.

Recognized for invaluable contributions to his industry for the past three decades, Mr. Garcia-Palacios has garnered several awards. In 2000, he was inducted into Who's Who of Professionals. In 2012, he was honored as a lifetime member with Worldwide Who's Who and then selected as one of their VIP members later that year. He feels his accomplishments and acclaim can be best attributed to perseverance, continued pursuit of knowledge, passion for his field, and a long-term vision for his career. In the coming years, Mr. Garcia-Palacios intends to open additional locations and delve deeper into ecologically friendly and sustainable production techniques.

Mr. Garcia-Palacios is a member of the Mexico Chamber of Commerce and charitably involved as a pro-bono consultant with various coffee grower associations. He is also a volunteer with the Confederacion Mexicana de Productores. Outside the demands of his work, he enjoys drinking and researching coffee, participating in various outdoor activities, practicing photography, scuba diving, and playing tennis and golf.
