SCOTTSDALE, AZ, May 23, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tired of technology? EscapeGrid (www.escapegrid.com) announces the launch of its outdoors get-away listing site. The grassroots website aims to connect technology-overloaded urban dwellers to outdoors experiences and nature. EscapeGrid will offer listings of rural and remote services, adventures, and lodging. The site is now accepting listings and will go fully live after June 1.
The site allows rural businesses, family-run operations, and parks/non-profits to list their services for anyone wanting to get out. "Many people are growing weary of technology and need to disconnect. We wanted to link the urban to the rural, and create a resource for people who want to get away from computer screens and crowded cities - even for just a while," says founder Dr. Peter Wegner.
Outdoors 'Escapes' from Technology
Types of 'escapes' on EscapeGrid will include: camping, fishing, RV-related, boating, hiking, snow-sports, kayaking, lodging (non-franchise), and more. "There are plenty of commercial vacation listings and travel sites on the web, but not much in the way of listings of rural vacation and outdoor sporting services run by individuals, families, and small businesses," adds founder Dr. Peter Wegner. EscapeGrid aims to bring these grassroots types of services into one place.
EscapeGrid (www.escapegrid.com) is organized into countries and regions with an initial push on getting listings and users in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The site also handles reservations, contacts, price-calendars, and can route payments to PayPal. Anyone who lists can create an account to manage their escape listings. Users can search listings for free and make reservations and arrangements for 'escapes' through the site.
The site is launching its beta-phase by offering a free 90-day listing incentive for all listings until July 15, 2013. Listings will cost from $7.99 per month after the release promotion ends. EscapeGrid plans to donate a percentage of its annual profits to nature preservation efforts as a way to give back.
