IRVINE, CA, June 05, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- FOURTEEN GOLF, a global leader in the development of golf equipment design, announced today that the company was well represented at the Web.com Tour Mid-Atlantic Championship as FOURTEEN GOLF Pro Staff member Chad Collins tied for third place playing their high performance wedges and irons.
According to Fourteen Golf COO Marcy Kamoda, "Chad played some seriously good golf. His third round 67 gave him a share of the lead going into Sunday's final round. Had a putt or two dropped on Sunday, he could have won the entire event. FOURTEEN GOLF congratulates him for playing so well."
Collins shot a 68, 67, 70 and a final round 72 on the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm Golf Course to take home a tie for third place finish -- just four strokes behind the winner. This is Collins' first Top-10 finish of the 2013 Web.com Tour season. He relied on the company's award winning wedges and irons to target the tough pin placements and undulating greens.
FOURTEEN GOLF knows the importance of the short game. The company has garnered a reputation throughout the world as being the preeminent wedge designer and the Golf Digest "Hot List" award winning RM-12 Wedge verifies it. This tour inspired, high performance wedge features the same large trapezoidal grooves as its predecessor, the RM 11-Wedge. These expanded grooves impart exceptional spin and rotational speed as the RM acronym implies - "Revolution per Minute."
These uniquely shaped trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to other FOURTEEN GOLF wedges. This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots. In addition, these high quality grooves perform well in both dry and wet conditions.
Collins played the FOURTEEN GOLF TC-930 Irons in #6 through #9 during the Web.com Mid-Atlantic Championship. These irons feature a low CG which works well with the latest golf balls on the market today. The result is that long iron shots will produce less spin while short iron shots will deliver optimal spin performance. The low CG provides just the right amount of spin on each shot, generating consistent performance on every shot.
"In addition to FOURTEEN GOLF celebrating Chad's third place finish, another Web.com Professional shot a 65 on Saturday to mark the lowest score of the day and he also locked in a solid Top-10 finish using FOURTEEN GOLF Utility Irons," added Kamoda.
The Hi-610 T.S. Utility Irons feature a relatively small and uniquely shaped club head which produces the distance of a fairway wood with the accuracy of an iron. The idea was to maintain the appearance of a traditional iron while managing to produce a club that will allow golfers to hit solidly out of any rough. A proprietary sole design promotes ease out of any rough as well as provides a solid and accurate shot. The precisely positioned CG makes the Hi-610 T.S. controllable as well as stable. There are three Hi-610h T.S. Utility Irons to choose from, a #2, #3, and #4.
In addition to the vast amount of professional golfers playing FOURTEEN GOLF equipment, the company has a professional FOURTEEN GOLF staff team which includes PGA Professionals John Mallinger, Arjun Atwal, Ryuji Imada and Chad Collins.
