WASHINGTON, DC, June 06, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicaragua will be hosting this year's LAC Flavors event in the city of Granada on July 25th and 26th, with the objective of connecting international buyers and regional suppliers of highly valued agricultural products. The event is co-organized by PRONicaragua, the official investment and export promotion agency, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Superior Council of the Private Enterprise of Nicaragua (COSEP, for its acronym in Spanish).
During the two-day event, qualified international buyers will be able to meet and negotiate with regional suppliers of valuable goods and services, from the agricultural and food industry. Approximately 50 international buyers from North America, Europe and Latin America, and more than 150 suppliers from Nicaragua and other countries in the region will be present at the event, showcasing products from categories such as vegetables, fruits, sauces, condiments and seasonings, herbs and spices, cereal, meat, dairy, fishery products, oils and other specialty products such as certified organic, fair trade, rainforest alliance, gluten-free, among others.
The event will have a series of matchmaking sessions and specialized workshops to cover relevant topics such as compliance with FDA regulations, use of online tools to improve marketing and a how to successfully position products in key retail stores.
Under the framework of LAC Flavors 2013, on July 24, the first edition of Trade in Action: "A Women Entrepreneur's Workshop" will take place, bringing together experts to help women-own businesses craft a competitive business strategy, guide them with practical tips for their unique businesses, and provide marketing ideas on how to make their product more competitive.
LAC Flavors is an annual specialized business matchmaking meeting that brings together food exporters and international buyers to create new business opportunities. LAC Flavors 2009 through 2012 led to the generation of approximately US$21 million in business deals following more than 4,000 business meetings held during the events.
