COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, June 08, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The support of 4G/LTE connectivity came as a pleasant surprise when Apple released its iPhone 5 in September 2012. However, once the phone was shipped to Denmark, Danish users where unable to use the 4G/LTE features with the current Danish 4G/LTE Network, due to the need of a software update. On the 28th January the long awaited iOS 6.1 finally came to Denmark and unlocked this feature not only for iPhone, but also to iPad Retina users!
"Many of 3's customers have an iPhone 5 or an iPad Retina, and we are very happy to announce that now they will be able to take full advantage of the 4G/LTE network. 3, today have 4G/LTE coverage in almost 70 cities across Denmark and we are fully focused on further strengthening our coverage. According to an independent market research, conducted on behalf of 3, majority of Danes perceive 3 as being leader in the 4G/LTE connectivity and this is why for us it is especially important to meet the demand of our customers for high speeds," said David Elsass, CRM and Marketing for the Resedential Market in 3.
3's customers are the most data consuming among all Danes and with 4G/LTE, they can now enjoy streaming music, TV and HD movies with the same quality as with the ADSL connection.
Apple's products support 4G/LTE in the 1800 band and currently only 2 companies in Denmark are offering this such connectivity - 3 and Telia. Currently, 3 is also the only telecommunications company in Denmark that sells Apple iPads.
3 in Denmark is a brand under the company Hi3G Access, which also has 3G and 4G/LTE license in Sweden.
