Capt. Mohamed Abdelrahim Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Maritime Logistics

Mohamed Abdelrahim, Executive Director and Maritime Adviser for the Maritime Sector of the Department of Transport, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in maritime logistics.

Captain Abdelrahim has 21 years of experience in the marine industry, dedicating the past six years as Executive Director and Maritime Adviser for the Maritime Sector of the Department of Transport. When the government needed restructuring, he was asked to take over this very sector to create systems and regulations for ports, waterways and transport.

With skills in maritime management, marine surveys and inspections, and port management, Captain Abdelrahim oversees regulations and waterway management. He is also entrusted to develop codes, standards and infrastructure for waterway management; and manage, update and implement maritime strategy. Additionally, he advises the maritime security committee, prepares the "Guide to Safe Boating book" and develops the awareness program for the maritime sector.

Captain Abdelrahim is a Project Management Professional, and believes that his certifications and memberships with several professional organizations separate him from others in his field. He holds a Diploma in Maritime Arbitration and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He went on to earn a Master's Degree in Marine Management an a Ph.D. in Business Administration. He attributes his successful to his passion for what he does; he enjoys challenges and creating successful teams.

Captain Abdelrahim maintains memberships with the Academy of International Business, The Nautical Institute, the Arab Mariner Industries Association, The Chartered Institute of Marketing, and the Chartered Association of Business Administrators. In 2010, he was given the Sea Trade Outstanding Achievement Award. Looking ahead, he hopes to change and innovate the maritime industry and help people become more open-minded.
