PORTER, TEXAS, June 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna L. Womack, Special Education Teacher for the New Caney Independent School District, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.
With nearly two decades of professional experience under her belt, Ms. Womack shines as a luminary in her field, as she is committed to helping children by bringing out their best, giving them the opportunity to shine like the bright stars that she knows they truly are. She teaches students with special needs at the New Caney Independent School District, a district offering both general and special education.
Since joining the field of education, Ms. Womack has celebrated many accomplishments, however, she pinpoints the highlight of her career as being recognized as Secondary Teacher of the Year within her school district. She attributes her success to her belief in helping others to accomplish their goals. She became involved in her profession because of her brother who was mentally challenged, which initiated her interest in substitute teaching. The highlight of her career was being recognized as Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Womack received a B.S. at the University of Houston-Downtown. She also earned a Master's Degree in Education Teacher Leadership from Lamar University. She remains abreast of trends and developments in her field as a member of the American Federation of Teachers, and the Texas State Teachers Association. She is a Texas Disaster Volunteer for Montgomery County, and supports such worthy causes as Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Ms. Womack also supports animal rescue efforts as a Guardian for the ASPCA
