What Do Superman and a Vampire Have in Common?

Ask author Meredith Allard about her Amazon Best-Selling Loving Husband Trilogy, and she'll tell you how the story of vampire James Wentworth is a lot like that of Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's newly released Man of Steel.

LAS VEGAS, NV, June 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The new Man of Steel movie shows how Clark Kent struggles through the world knowing how different he is from the humans around him. How does he protect those around him without alerting everyone else that he has special powers?

Allard says it's the same struggle James Wentworth deals with, particularly in Books One and Two of the Loving Husband Trilogy, Her Dear & Loving Husband and Her Loving Husband's Curse. "James is a vampire with extraordinary strength and superhuman senses," Allard says, "and he needs to hide the truth of what he is, that he is undead among the living." Allard adds that unlike Clark Kent and his family, James doesn't have to speculate about what might happen when humans are confronted with things they don't understand. "James has seen it, he's lived through it, beginning with the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. He knows too well how madness infects people when they're confronted by something new."

Both Clark and James are afraid to be themselves for fear of what others will say. Their coming of age stories about how they learn to make peace with their places in the world can be understood by everyone. "We are all different in one way or another," Allard says. "Coming of age stories are important because they remind us that no matter who we are we can find a meaningful place for ourselves if we're willing to try. Whether you're an alien, a vampire, or whatever you happen to be, you can make peace with yourself and your place in the world. That's a lesson we all need to learn."

About the Loving Husband Trilogy

The Loving Husband Trilogy is a paranormal love story set against the backdrop of the quaint town of Salem, Massachusetts. This trilogy from Meredith Allard is a beautifully drawn portrait of two people whose love spans the test of time.

Written in elegant, poetic prose, the Loving Husband Trilogy explores the themes of survival, fear, madness, and redemption. Allard recreates the harsh world of Colonial America, revealing the strictly religious Puritans as well as those who came not for religious purposes but for profits. She spent two years researching the colonial period and the Salem Witch Trials, adding realism and depth to the story. Her Dear & Loving Husband is Book One of The Loving Husband Trilogy. Book Two is Her Loving Husband's Curse, and Book Three is Her Loving Husband's Return.
