Sherry Hannon Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Leadership in the Canadian Veterinary Profession and Beef Industry

    LANGDON, ALBERTA, CANADA, June 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sherry Hannon, DVM, M.V.Sc., Ph.D., Veterinary Epidemiologist at Feedlot Health Management Services Ltd., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in veterinary medicine and the Canadian beef industry.

Dr. Hannon has clinical veterinary experience in companion animal medicine, as well as five years working experience in veterinary epidemiology and beef cattle research. Her other areas of expertise and interest include team management, antimicrobial resistance, and animal health and welfare. Her responsibilities currently include Research Team management related to implementing clinical field trial research in feedlots and dairy ranches, and large-scale data management, analysis, results interpretation and technical writing.

She attributes her success to her determination, persistence and excellent communication skills. She became involved in her profession because of her passion for animal health and her support of the livestock production industries. In the next five years, Dr. Hannon hopes to continue to make positive contributions to the veterinary profession and to Canadian animal agriculture using her knowledge and transferable skills.

Dr. Hannon has attained a Ph.D. in Veterinary Epidemiology, a Masters of Veterinary Science, and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan (2003, 2001, and 1996, respectively). In addition, she attended both McGill University (1990-1992) and The University of British Columbia (1989).

She is a member of the Canadian and Alberta Veterinary Medicine Associations, the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, The American Association of Bovine Practitioners and the Academy of Veterinary Consultants. She also is an active member of the Alberta Farmed Animal Health and Welfare Steering Committee, including the Pharmaceutical Priorities Action Team. Outside of work she enjoys running and quilting.
