Covington Who's Who Selects John "J.P." Smith as a Professional of the Year Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

John "J.P." Smith, who holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, formally founded Smith Enterprise in 2011, although he has been doing private consulting work since 2008.

After serving four years in the US Air Force with active duty classification of missile officer, Mr. Smith became a Honolulu Metropolitan Police Officer as part of a street crime unit. He worked undercover for a year collecting intelligence on the cocaine business in the state and also handled operations concerning curtailing the sale of military weapons to civilians on the island of Oahu. But in 1988, he left the police force due to safety concerns of himself and his family. For the next ten years he worked in sales and insurance investigations before spending another seven years at the maximum security Honolulu Youth Correctional Facility, until 2008.

Since that time, Mr. Smith has been doing consulting work in matters of business, government, health, and entertainment. Providing services to organizations and individuals alike, Smith Enterprise offers much lower rates than most consulting firms. Dealing primarily with US and Asia, Mr. Smith is bilingual in English and Japanese and can provide written translation services in dozens of international languages.
