Margaret K. Mazzola Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Health Care Administration

    STATEN ISLAND, NY, June 27, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret K. Mazzola, Staten Island University Hospital Retiree, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care administration.

A graduate of Long Island University, Ms. Mazzola holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in health care management. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from St. John's University. This educational background provided her with the knowledge necessary for leading a successful career in the health care sector, where she spent nearly two decades.

Now retired from the field, Ms. Mazzola last served the Staten Island University Hospital. During her 11 years with the hospital, she was in constant collaboration with the chief medical officer and chief of staff to achieve the goals of the organization. In 2006, she worked with the hospital to help it win the Codman Award - she participated in the preparation of the application and related organizational data to help it attain this great honor.

She regularly participated in grant applications and renewals, and she was heavily involved in monitoring compliance matters. In addition, Ms. Mazzola managed many of the hospital's projects and, in doing so, interacted with a myriad of physicians. She eventually became an expert in health care administration, and project and emergency management.

Today, Ms. Mazzola volunteers with TRY, an organization that assists inmates in preparation for lifestyle changes once they are released. She is also involved with Staten Island University Auxiliary, Project Hospitality, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
