WEST PALM BEACH, FL, June 29, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Each year, hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children are unwittingly exposed to a variety of diseases and illnesses stemming from their contact with food. In recent years, more emphasis has been put on sanitation practices on farms, in kitchens, and in food packaging to minimize the risks presented in the most common cases. E-Coli, Salmonella, and Hepatitis are the three most prevalent results from contact with food that has been improperly handled or undercooked. The results of exposure are often serious, leading to hospitalization and in many cases the unfortunate death of the individuals exposed. To combat this, scientists have worked diligently to develop better treatment methods and more accurate ways to diagnose these ailments at an early juncture. In tandem, government officials and Quality Assurance specialists have implemented rigorous approvals for all packaged food, and have implied sanctions in cases where a food-borne illness was previously present.

Featuring Martin Sheen, these segments can illustrate the importance of such issues to a wide audience.
