Quest CE to offer required Long Term Care Insurance courses for CE credit

    /24-7PressRelease/ - BROOKFIELD, WI, October 29, 2007 - An increasing number of state insurance departments are requiring that agents licensed to sell long-term care insurance complete a Long Term Care Training course and a subsequent biennial continuing education (CE) course.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia all have either a long-term care insurance training requirement or have announced that they will soon have one. Most of these states require that insurance agents complete an initial eight-hour training course and complete four hours of insurance continuing education (CE) during each two-year licensing period.

Quest CE offers courses approved for insurance continuing education (CE) or have filed a course in each of the 11 states that currently have this requirement.

"It's a requirement we're seeing more and more," says Adam Krenke, Manager of Compliance and Regulatory Services for Quest CE. "We certainly expect that additional states will adopt a similar requirement over the next few years."

Long Term Care Insurance is a product that helps provide for the cost of certain types of health care typically not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. Individuals who typically require Long Term Care are unable to perform the basic activities of daily living such as dressing and bathing.
