LONDON, ENGLAND, July 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Kurtinz design team will visit all the major soft furnishings exhibitions in 2013, with the major focus on Decorex International. The event will be held on the 22nd to 25th of September at Perks Field and The Orangery, Kensington Palace London.
This is where new soft furnishing trends are announced coming from hundreds of international manufacturers and suppliers. This gives the team of Kurtinz the opportunity to meet with existing and new suppliers and designers.
When it comes to the latest trends, the Kurtinz team is always keeping a close eye, so that they can provide chic and contemporary made to measure curtains and roman blinds. This year, the emphasis is on stripes, purples and bright pastel colours. More people are choosing the revolutionary 'wave' system for their curtains. This allows them to enjoy the finish of eyelet headings with a track instead of a curtain pole.
Following their visit to this massive event, the team will discuss what will be offered to their clients just in time for the winter seasonal changes. Most of the new designs and fabrics will be made available on the first week of November, as they are very aware about the change in demand around that time. They also wish to offer their clientele the latest trends in fabric colours, designs and textures.
Another thing they will be keeping a close eye on is the launch of new fabrics from Clarke and Clarke, Prestigious Textiles and Harlequin. This is expected to happen early September. Again, this is in time for the change in seasonal demand. They are expecting a revolutionary switch to contemporary and very modern themes this year, and are very excited about the prospect of adding innovative products to their portfolio.
The design team at Kurtinz has noticed that more clients are choosing the 'puddle' effect for their curtains. This is where the fabric is allowed to gather on the floor, which is achieved by making the curtains longer than normal. A question that is often asked is 'how much extra fabric should be allowed?' Generally there are three options; a 1-inch puddle which is called a 'trouser', mainly used to block out the sunlight, a 2 to 4 inch puddle, which will allow enough fabric for a small puddle effect, and finally, the 'true puddle' that should be between 6 and 8 inches.
The team will be posting new ideas and trends on the Kurtinz-Group blog when they return from Decorex International, so please keep an eye on that page for some inspirational ideas.
