GREENSBORO, NC, July 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- If you have children, you know how much you scrutinized orthodontists in your local area to make sure you picked the right one. Orthodontic care for kids is an investment.
Now you have a chance to think about your own smile. You're making up for lost time and you know you want to pursue adult orthodontic treatment. You don't want to wait any longer to get your teeth back on track to a healthy and dynamic smile.
So how do you determine what course of treatment is best for you? By having a professional explain your choices. At Reynolds Orthodontics, it's easy and free to learn about your personal orthodontic treatment options.
Never too Late for Adult Treatment
Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your personal appearance and self-esteem. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches, and jaw-joint pain.
Thanks to today's advances in orthodontic technology, Reynolds Orthodontics can provide adult patients with more options than ever before when it comes to wearing braces. While regular metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are becoming increasingly popular along with removable appliances that can be used for mild cases of misaligned teeth.
Tooth alignment can be changed at any age if your gums and bone structure are healthy. We offer a variety of treatments that are designed for different age groups - including adults. Don't let your age prevent you from getting a beautiful smile!
Please ask us to learn more about the types of braces we offer at our office. You can speak with Dr. Reynolds to determine which appliance is right for you.
Invisible Braces
The timeline for adults is probably a bit tighter when it comes to wearing braces. Especially if your job puts you face-to-face with others on a daily basis, you want your clients focusing on the words coming out of your mouth and not the braces on your teeth.
Clear appliances, such as Invisalign, use a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing those aligners because they are invisible! Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Another benefit of clear aligners is that brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have aesthetic concerns. Ceramic braces blend in with the teeth extremely well.
However, they do require more attention to oral hygiene because they are larger than metal braces. Ceramic brackets more fragile than metal, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits with certain foods and smoking.
