BRAMPTON, ON, July 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Catherine Astolfo's newest novel is creating quite a buzz.
Although fictional, the story includes her children's connection to Joseph Brant through his daughter Elizabeth. "I couldn't find actual documents, but my children appear to be related through Elizabeth's first marriage to a runaway slave, John Morey. I've always wanted to write about this unique history," says Astolfo. Described as a psychological suspense, Sweet Karoline is part romance and history, as well, according to its author.
The prestigious Kirkus Review says the following: "In her latest novel, Astolfo (Legacy, 2012, etc.) takes what at first glance appears to be a straightforward story of murder and guilt to an unexpected place...where love is discovered. [Main character] Anne goes on a treasure hunt for family secrets related to the fate of freed slaves, interracial relationships, incest and a lost fortune. A deliciously vibrant portrait that realistically muddles good and evil."
Sweet Karoline is published by Imajin Books (www.imajinbooks.com), publisher Cheryl Tardif, and has been optioned for film by Sisbro & Co. Inc. (www.sisbroandcompany.com).
