In the course of his duties, he serves as the medical chief financial officer and directs the management of the IT and accounting, medical records departments. This entails analyzing and preparing budgets, and overseeing budget allocation and the day-to-day and long-term financial management of the health center.

He has excellent communications skills and works very well with others. He is highly motivated, reliable, detail oriented and always seeking to expand his knowledge and skill sets. Mr. Dyer attributes his success to his background, as well as his mother, who taught him to rely on himself. Mr. Dyer's mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness while he was in his mid-teens, which prompted him to learn to support his mother and siblings. He got a full-time job and continued to support them for many years to come. This taught him how to deal with adversity from a very young age. He was also paralyzed from the waist down at the age of 20 after a car accident. He had to learn how to deal with this life-changing event and slowly teach himself how to walk again. He feels that this adversity has directly contributed to his success. He became involved in his profession because he graduated with a degree in accounting and finance. While working at Auraria Health Center, the position of chief financial officer became available, and so Mr. Dyer received a promotion.
Mr. Dyer received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Business from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He is a member of the American College Health Association and MGMA.
