Jean-Francois Herchin Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Business Development

    MASSY, FRANCE, July 17, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 2013, Jean-Francois Herchin, Chief Executive Officer of Dow Kokam France and Vice President of European Operations for Dow Kokam, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in business development.

Jean-Francois Herchin joined Dow Kokam, which was formerly known as Societe de Vehicules Electriques, in 2004. His purposes in joining were to strengthen the developments that have been made since its establishment in 2002, and to launch an experimentation program, which involved 40 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles tested by large corporate fleets. He served as a program manager in 2004, a managing director in 2007, and the CEO in 2008. Under his management, Dow Kokam France has developed its skills and competences in the domain of advanced energy battery systems, based on lithium ion technology.

Previously, Jean-Francois Herchin spent 25 years in Rhone-Poulenc/Rhodia Group, from which he acquired management experience, especially as a project manager and as a plant manager dedicated to advanced materials and high technology processes. Over the years, he has established himself as an expert in the following fields: general management, business development and strategic planning dealing initially with chemical engineering, and currently with system engineering. Jean-Francois Herchin worked with international leaders such as DuPont de Nemours, Lyondell and The Dow Chemical Company. He spent three years in Korea. Working on the emerging business of advanced energy battery systems, he manages close relationships with different stakeholders, including customers, shareholders, staff, political and governmental bodies. Jean-Francois Herchin attributes his success to a specific focus on cash and people management, taking advantage of business opportunities, being open to change, and working with other talented professionals on a worldwide basis.

Jean-Francois Herchin received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Ecole Nationale des Industries Chimiques de Nancy in 1981. He is a member of Eurobat. To benefit those in need, he contributes to the National Anorexia Association in France, as well as the Christian Association against Torture. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing yoga, aircraft piloting and hiking.
In years to come, Jean-Francois Herchin plans to bring his expertise and knowledge to other professionals within the emerging industry of lithium-ion battery.
