Naomi Coxwell Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry

    HOUSTON, July 29, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Naomi J. Coxwell, Vice President of Finance and Global Projects for BP p.l.c., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the upstream oil and gas business.

Recognized for nearly three decades of invaluable contributions in the upstream oil and gas industry, Ms. Coxwell has found professional success with BP as their vice president of finance for global projects, a position she acquired one short year ago. On a daily basis, she is responsible for managing a team of approximately 80 people located around the globe. She also provides executive-level guidance on quality of investments and sources of value.

Before obtaining her current position, Ms. Coxwell has worked in various other capacities for BP, ARCO and Petrofina. She began her oil and gas career in 1984 as a geologist, holding both technical and leadership roles before moving into the finance/commercial arena in 1992. She was successful in developing a risk management and economic evaluation tool for application across Petrofina's exploration and appraisal portfolio. She joined ARCO British Ltd in 1996 and enjoyed negotiating complex commercial agreements for large joint ventures. It was in 2000 that Ms. Coxwell moved to BP where, in 2001, she took the position of commercial director for BP Vietnam. While there, she was responsible for driving the delivery of business unit plans, as well as planning and leading the development of local staff. Then in 2005, she became the vice president of corporate operations for a subsidiary of the company based in Trinidad and Tobago. Just prior to her present position, she was the general manager of business development for BP Developments Australia Pty Ltd, a position that she held for four years.

Ms. Coxwell received a Bachelor of Science in geology from Exeter University, and she remains connected to the industry by way of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain. Looking ahead, she plans to continue growing within the industry. She plans to pursue higher level positions as time goes on.
