Jean Williamson Smith Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals

    DEWITT, KY, July 29, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ --Jean Williamson Smith, Reading First Coach for DeWitt Elementary School, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of elementary education.

Inspired by her grandfather, who understood the importance of education, Jean Williamson Smith decided to venture into teaching. She enjoyed a long and fruitful career, devoting all of her 29 years in education to DeWitt Elementary School. As a Reading First coach, she specializes in reading instruction and guidance for students from kindergarten to the third grade. Ms. Williamson Smith considers helping children and receiving affirmation from them to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. She attributes her success to her interpersonal skills and the support of her family.

Ms. Williamson Smith is a certified reading specialist with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, plus 45. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and a certification in supervision and principalship, both from Union College. Ms. Williamson Smith was honored by Worldwide Who's Who as an Outstanding VIP Member in 2008 and 2007. She recently retired at the end of the school year of 2009 and has a lot of travel plans with her husband Gary.
