TapSnap's Got Game - Golf Tournaments Across North America Use TapSnap to Capture Priceless Moments on the Green

Golf event organizers across North America are using the TapSnap phototainment system to capture priceless moments on and off the green.

NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, July 31, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Golf event organizers across North America are using the TapSnap phototainment system to capture priceless moments on and off the green.

From the Annual Max Golf Classic at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass. to the Irie Weekend Celebrity Golf Tournament in Miami to the Golf Channel's US Open Event in Philadelphia, TapSnap has got game and it shows.

"The way I see it, TapSnap is a triple-win at charity golf tournaments," says Sheryl Cheney, a TapSnap franchisee and golfer who sees a strong market in golfing events. "The charity benefits from the fun factor TapSnap provides and the sponsors, charity and country club all benefit through the viral effects of social media. And TapSnap benefits from the exposure."

An entire foursome can fit in a TapSnap picture, because TapSnap is a open-concept photo booth. The machine can even be set up with the course as a backdrop, using a tent to block the sun. There's an array of golf-themed digital props guests can use to decorate their pictures from clubs, golf balls and trophies. When participants are done creating their pictures, they can share them instantly on social media.

Cheney brought her TapSnap to the 10th Annual Max Golf Classic at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass, a fundraising event for Baystate Children's Hospital presented by the restaurant chain Max Restaurant Group.

"This is the premier golf event in western Massachusetts," says Cheney. "The entry fee for a foursome is $2,700. Previously, they have raised over a million dollars for charity."

Cheney also did another charity golf tournament, a fundraiser for the Special Olympics in her hometown at Wilbraham Country Club, where they set up TapSnap next to the putting competition.

"TapSnap is definitely a great way to capture each foursome as they make their way through the course," says Cheney. "Then in the down time after they finish their round, they can come back and play with the photos, adding digital props and comments."

The only problem with TapSnap is that it's keeping Cheney so busy she isn't spending as much time as she'd like on the golfing green.

Another recent golf event was the star-studded Irie Weekend Charity Golf Tournament on June 28 at Miami Beach Country Club. The tournament raised funds for the Irie Foundation, created by DJ Irie, who is the official DJ of the Miami Heat, Carnival Cruise Lines and superstar Jamie Foxx.

TapSnap was also on hand for a Golf Channel US Open event on June 14 and 15 at Xfinity live! in Philadelphia, where play was streamed live to the entertainment complex.

On the West Coast, TapSnap was out on the 18th hole at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club for the 8th Annual Sutton Place Hotel's Just "fore" Fun Invitational. Taking place July 16 at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club just outside Vancouver and planned by E=MC2 Events, the golf tournament raised funds for Simon Fraser University Athletics Department.

"While participants were out golfing their rounds, we decorated their photos with digital props," says Claire Nagle, TapSnap Event Coordinator. "When they came back and saw, they thought it was hilarious."

Participants also had their chance to get their picture taken with a spritely costumed hostess from Paintertainment, a company which provides costumes and body art for special events.

"TapSnap makes it easy to create fun and memorable golf tournament photos," says Scott McInnes, the CEO and founder of TapSnap. "No more grip and grins. TapSnap encourages people to relax and play around, and that creates the kind of photos that remind people how much fun the golf tournament was."

What they say

"What was so much fun was to be able to pose for photos with our friends and get to see the photos right then," says Jill Candland, the Membership Chair of Jeremy Ladies Association at the Jeremy Golf Club near Park City, Utah. "We could do as many as we wanted, get them printed or sent to e-mail, Facebook, whatever, and not have to wait to see the finished photos. Being able to click on the different costumes, insert movie stars, just change things up was a kick. I don't know anyone that didn't have fun with this!"
