SUFFOLK, VA, July 30, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David A. Finke, President of Eagle Crest Training Institute, LLC (SDVOSB) and Vice President of Eagle Crest Enterprises Ltd, (WOSB) has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in maritime training.
From 1975 to 1996, Mr. Finke served in the United States Navy in the nuclear propulsion program. During his career in the military, he served on two nuclear fast-attack submarines, one submarine tender and one nuclear powered cruiser. Having traveled around the world, Mr. Finke names the highlight of his career as the time he surfaced through the polar icecap on his second submarine in 1984. He is currently a retired Limited Duty Officer who is still working within the Department of Defense as a consultant performing Non-destructive Testing Examiner (NDT Level III) services for several small government contractor companies.
For the past 12 years, Mr. Finke has operated maritime technical training and consulting businesses that offer quality assurance education for commercial and naval clients in areas such as welding, NDT inspection, OSHA safety, quality management (ISO 9001) and work ethics. Catering to the local region in Southeastern Virginia, Eagle Crest Training Institute and Eagle Crest Enterprises, Ltd also provide NDT Level III Examiner services in welding, inspections and education, as well as process development for ship repair, naval nuclear propulsion and ship alteration. In his role with these companies and their clients, Mr. Finke manages business operations. His responsibilities include implementing process and procedure for welders and inspections and, training people in small companies with the goal of preparing tradesmen to attain national certifications from American Welding Society (AWS), American Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) and American Society for Quality (ASQ). Mr. Finke holds certifications in ISO 9001 auditing, as a NDT Level III Examiner in VT, PT and MT and as a welding inspector. Named as a Master Training Specialist by the United States Navy, he has become an undisputed leader in maritime training. After more than 40 years in the maritime industry, he intends to expand Eagle Crest Training Institute into an AWS certified welding training center which will be available for maritime and construction tradesmen training.
Mr. Finke is a member of The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, American Society for Quality, American Welding Society, and The American Maritime Modernization Association. He is also active with his local church, Resurrection Lutheran. In his free time, he enjoys raising and showing Tibetan Spaniels in AKC and UKC conformation and woodworking.
