Hello my name is Dr. Steven L. Jordan, Sr. I am an executive program manager/director, campus dean, psychotherapist, business owner, and an educator with more than 30 years of diversified management and operational experience. I have spent the majority of my life following my calling to serve humanity by being a blessing to God's people from an educational, health and wealth perspective. This passion to help others derived from my meager beginnings in the low-income Hamilton/Franklin street projects in New Haven, Connecticut. At the age of 17, I dropped out of high school after completing the 10th grade to join the Marine Corps, and later joined the Army as an enlisted soldier. After serving a total of six years as an enlisted service member, I decided to go to college and become a commissioned officer with the U.S. Army. The Army offered an environment of dynamic change that allowed my desire for innovation and improvement to thrive.
I had a very successful military career and retired after 28 years of honorable service in March 2010. After being a private twice, once in the Marine Corps and once in the Army, I retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. My career accomplishments also included earning a Ph.D. in Religious Studies in Leadership and Education from Columbia Pacific University in 1989, and a Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University in 2006. Currently, I am completing a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Northcentral University.
With a passion for excellence that glorified God, it became obvious that I had an amazing ability to coach, mentor and develop potential leaders while designing cutting edge programs. I am a long-term strategic thinker who operates with a servant leader's mentality that is result-oriented and solution-focused. I have been called a visionary by many of my leaders. As a leader, I welcomed the challenges that my various assignments in life have presented to me, and the atmosphere of inevitable change I found in every one of them, as I attempted to strategically plan for the future. This combination of successes and failures taught me how to be very effective while strategically managing operations large and small. I am particularly proud of my accomplishments in human resources and personnel management, along with those in budgeting, finance, and information technology.
The understanding of capital management, education, and people was key in my selection to become a university dean after my retirement. At that point, I had been married for over 16 years with three beautiful children. My oldest daughter graduated from Yale University with her masters. My youngest daughter is in her junior year at Baylor University studying to become a child psychiatrist. My youngest son, Steven Jr., continues to be the light of our lives in addition to my two grandchildren.
One could suggest that I was living the "American Dream" based on what we had been taught, which is to work hard and create a legacy of excellence that enables your family's success; however, after serving in the military and working as a dean, professor and counselor to help mold young peoples lives, I realized that I was still not living the fullness of my own dream. I spent the majority of my life teaching, preaching, and educating individuals who dealt with the aftermath of war, PTSD and a host of other unnamed issues. I served over 2,000 soldiers and their families, and 132,000 DOD beneficiaries with family and marriage counseling. After retiring, I saw that we were still at war. It was the war of poverty, and the period of sequestration, coupled with ambiguity and hopelessness.
While employed as a university dean, and loving most aspects of the job, I decided to go into business for myself full-time. I started the Franchise Doctor and Strategic Consulting Group after talking with my wife and a friend. I began this business to continue to help and serve individuals who wanted something they never had and who were ready to do something different to make it happen.
Zija's Health Benefits
As most of you, I am not as young as I once was, and my body had begun to betray me, so I started looking into health and wellness with an urgency and thirst for knowledge. I had listened to a wise person who was a former parishioner talk about the moringa oleifera and its biblical and scientific data. She urged both my wife and I to take a serious look at Zija's moringa oleifera and its nutritional and healing value. It was at that point that I became a secret observer without making any commitment. I started using the product and I enjoyed the health benefits. I hate to admit this fact, but I did not decide to become an active distributor and product life-coach until another former longtime parishioner invited me to join in a business venture to minister health, wealth, and wellness to the church and the entire world. This program was called the John 3:2 Experience.
It was a fact that as a result of Zija's moringa oleifera, and its awesome nutritional supplements...I felt better than ever and my quality of life had been enriched 110%. At this time, I have lost over 40 pounds and am truly living the dream while helping others experience health and wealth both as franchise owners and Zija Distributors.
Finally, with the government's sequester (which is the automatic spending cut to the federal budget beginning 2013 ; becoming the reality of the day, and the test of our times, it is imperative that individuals take the responsibility for the financial well-being of their families by becoming business owners.
In closing, I read that the difference between school and life needs to be fully understood, valued and appreciated. In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches a lesson. Let's take the test of our times and understand that knowledge is the ability to get information, and wisdom is the ability to use that knowledge. We must go forth in knowledge and wisdom and elect to become business owners today. It is your time!
