Trena Whisnant Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Music Education

    EAGLE RIVER, AK, August 1, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trena Whisnant, Teacher at Kindermusik with Trena Whisnant, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in music education.

With an unwavering passion for music and love for children, Ms. Whisnant founded Kindermusik with Trena Whisnant in 2008. The school provides music education for newborn through seven year old children. Through early integration of music techniques, children are taught creativity, listening skills, vision, and focus. The balance and coordination skills they acquire at Kindermusik with Trena Whisnant builds children's self esteem through enhancement of emotional and social skills, as well as language and literacy understanding.

As a teacher for the school, Ms. Whisnant works with students from the Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Eagle River, and Chugiak areas of Alaska. She instructs students in vocal techniques and instrumental studies, such as chimes, recorders, pre-keyboard and drums. Ever eager to keep parents involved in their children's music education, she meets with guardians once per week to enhance the value of music and its effect on child development. Proficient in music education and licensed by Kindermusik International, Incorporated, Ms. Whisnant also offers private music lessons. She has a long professional background working with special needs children, including two of her own children- who are adopted. She has experience working as an assistant teacher for special needs children in summer school programs as well. Ms. Whisnant aspires to have her own music studio, complete with a classroom setting, within the next five years.

Recognized for years of invaluable contributions to the field of music, Ms. Whisnant has garnered several awards. In 2009, she was inducted into Worldwide Who's Who as a lifetime member. Two years later, based on merit and outstanding achievement in her field, she was chosen as a VIP member. In 2012, Ms. Whisnant was honored as a Top Female Executive, representing music education. She feels her success can be most aptly attributed to dedication, a desire to continually learn, and motivation to expand her business.

Ms. Whisnant is a member of the Chugiak Eagle River Women in Business Network, Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Professional Women. She is charitably involved with Homestead Elementary School, The Alaska Moving Arts Center, and The National Head Start Association. Away from the demands of her work, she enjoys dancing, practicing singing, and selling Longaberger baskets. She also loves spending time with her husband David and children Brandi, Chyanne, and Quinn.
